100 FINALISTS will win trips to Orlando, Florida,
April 11 - 13, 2010, to compete for cash and merchandise prizes totaling $1,050,200. Trip includes round-trip coach air transportation for finalist from major airport nearest finalist's home, hotel accommodations consisting of one double occupancy room for two nights at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, daily event-sponsored meals, a GE countertop microwave oven (estimated retail value of $249), and $100. Approximate retail value of each finalist package is $1,300.

PRIZE STRUCTURE

One (1) Grand Prize Recipe Winner receives $1,000,000 and a GE Profile™ Induction Free-Standing Range, plus winner chooses $7,000 in additional GE Profile™ kitchen appliances. Combined retail value of Grand Prize is approximately $1,010,300.

Three (3) Recipe Category Winners each receive $5,000 and a GE Profile™ Induction Free-Standing Range. Combined retail value of each Category Prize is approximately $8,300.

One (1) GE Imagination At Work Award (retail value is approximately $5,000)
One (1) Jif® Peanut Butter Award ($5,000)
One (1) Crisco is Cooking™ Award ($5,000)

GRAND PRIZE WINNER

At the Contest Finals, the judging panel will award one recipe winner for each Recipe Category. One of these overall Recipe Category Winners will be judged the $1 Million Grand Prize Winner. The $1 Million Grand Prize will be awarded as an annuity payable in installments of $50,000 each year for 20 consecutive years, no interest, with the first payment payable on or about May 1, 2010. Grand Prize Winner will also receive a GE Profile™ Induction Free-Standing Range, plus winner chooses $7,000 in additional GE Profile™ kitchen appliances. Combined retail value of Grand Prize is approximately $1,010,300.

Recipe Category Winners

The three remaining Recipe Category Winners will each receive $5,000 and a GE Profile™ Induction Free-Standing Range. Combined retail value of each Category Prize is approximately $8,300.

GE Imagination At Work Award

The judging panel will award the GE Imagination At Work Award to the finalist whose recipe the panel deems the most innovative. The GE Imagination At Work Award will be awarded to a finalist who has not won any other Prize or Award. The GE Imagination At Work Award Winner will receive a GE Profile™ Induction Free-Standing Range, plus winner chooses $1,700 in additional GE Profile™ kitchen appliances. Retail value of the GE Imagination At Work Award is approximately $5,000.

Jif® Peanut Butter Award

The judging panel will award the Jif® Peanut Butter Award to a finalist who is recognized as having the best recipe using at least ¼ cup of Jif® Peanut Butter. The Jif® Peanut Butter Award will be awarded to a finalist who has not won any other Prize or Award. The Jif® Peanut Butter Award Winner will receive $5,000. In the event that no qualifying recipes are selected as finalists, the prize will not be awarded.

Crisco is Cooking™ Award

The judging panel will award the Crisco is Cooking™ Award to a finalist who is recognized as having the best recipe using at least one (1) tablespoon of Crisco® Cooking Oil. The Crisco is Cooking™ Award will be awarded to a finalist who has not won any other Prize or Award. The Crisco is Cooking™ Award Winner will receive $5,000. In the event that no qualifying recipes are selected as finalists, the prize will not be awarded.
All contest prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash, except at the sole discretion of General Mills. Each finalist is eligible to win one Prize or Award in addition to the finalist package. All taxes and other expenses, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winners. All appliance prizes listed in the above prize descriptions will be delivered to winner’s home address. Winner will be responsible for all appliance installation expenses. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize (if any) are subject to the manufacturer’s terms only, and winner agrees to look solely to such manufacturer for any such warranty and/or guarantee. Maybe it’s a recipe inspired by leftovers in the refrigerator or the desire to try a new product. As you’re creating your original recipe, think like a judge, and consider not only taste, but appearance, creativity and how your recipe will appeal to families across America. You just may have a winner!
Your entry needs to be your original recipe, fit into one of the four recipe categories, and use at least two different eligible products.

Chocolate Chip-Popcorn Bars

Yes, while illegal in many areas (thigh area, hip area...), this is a recipe from a former entrant to the Pillsbury Bakeoff. Fran Neavoll, Salem, OR., Bake-Off® Contest 41, 2004
Chocolate Chip-Popcorn Bars


INGREDIENTS
Crust
1roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated chocolate chip cookies
4Nature Valley® oats 'n honey crunchy granola bars (2 pouches from 8.9-oz box), crushed*
Topping
3 1/2cups miniature marshmallows
1bag (3.5 oz) butter-flavor microwave popcorn, popped
2/3cup light corn syrup
1/4cup butter or margarine
1bag (10 oz) peanut butter chips
1cup semisweet chocolate chips


DIRECTIONS
1.
Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Stir in crushed granola bars. Press evenly in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch pan to form crust.
2.Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until puffed and edges are golden brown. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Bake 1 to 2 minutes longer or until marshmallows begin to puff.
3.Remove and discard unpopped kernels from popped popcorn. In 3-quart saucepan, heat corn syrup, butter and peanut butter chips over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in popcorn (mixture will be thick). Spoon over marshmallows; spread evenly to just barely cover marshmallows. Cool 30 minutes.
4.In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips on High 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, stirring once halfway through microwaving, until melted. Pour melted chocolate into 1-quart resealable food-storage plastic bag. Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag; drizzle chocolate over bars. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.
*To easily crush granola bars, do not unwrap. Use rolling pin to crush bars.

High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Bake crust 13 to 18 minutes.
